hamilton-zanze February 08, 2014

Health care technology company Athenahealth is planning to locate its new research and development center in Austin, adding 607 new jobs to the metro over the next 10 years and making a total capital investment of $13 million.

The new center will occupy 110,000 square foot of office space at Seaholm, a $130 million downtown redevelopment. The redevelopment project also includes 280 high-rise condos and 48,363 square feet of retail, restaurants, and meeting space.

Athenahealth currently employs 2,853 workers and saw revenue of $422.3 million in 2012. The company noted the local talent pool as a reason for locating its new center in Austin.
