The national unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.9% in February, while total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 242,000 in February, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Health care and social assistance, retail trade, food services and drinking places, and private educational services all saw employment growth, while job losses continued in mining.
