Denver Home Prices Up 9% From 2013

Home resale prices in the Denver MSA increased 9% in January 2014 from a year ago, according to the most recent S&P/Case-Shiller Home Prices Index. Denver now has 25 straight months of annual home price gains and at least 9% annual gains in 12 out of the last 13 months.

Home resale prices were 46.2% higher than in January 2014 compared to January 2000. Rising home prices can bode well for multifamily, as they keep some would-be homebuyers on the sidelines and in rental units.
