Denver Rent Growth to Continue in 2014

Despite new multifamily construction, monthly rents in metro Denver should grow by nearly 5% in 2014 to $1,170, according to Hendricks-Berkadia. Some 7,400 new apartment units are expected to become available over the coming year, followed by 5,500 more in 2015.

During 2013, average rents increased by 6.6% to $1,115. As stated in the Hendricks-Berkadia report, “Denver-area employers added jobs at a pace faster than the national rate in 2013, tamping down vacancy year over year and supporting robust rent growth.”
