Hottest Neighborhoods in Portland MSA for Housing

In a 2013 study compiled by the Portland Business Journal, Beaverton placed 2nd for most homes sold in the Portland MSA with 1,051 sales, and Tigard was 8th with 701 sales. The Portland Business Journal also measured the fastest average home turnover and the most expensive home prices, and Beaverton was ranked 12th for both the fastest average home turnover (average of 56 days on the market) and the most expensive homes (average sale price of $420,459).

Other key points in the study are:

• The average Portland single-family home sale price in 2013 was $310,500
• 17 of the 25 most expensive neighborhoods were located within Portland city limits
• 11 of the 25 most expensive neighborhoods also had the most home sales
