New Residents Swell Denver’s Population

In the year ending July 1, 2012, Denver’s population swelled by 14,980 residents to 634,265. That growth ranks Denver 11th on the U.S. Census Bureau’s ranking of cities that absorbed the largest number of new residents. New York was ranked first, as it added 67,058 residents to a population of 8.3 million. Houston, Los Angeles, San Antonio, and Austin rounded out the top five.
