El Paso Single-Family Home Values Rise

hamilton-zanze December 23, 2013

In El Paso, single-family home prices increased by $6,500 from 2010 to 2012, bringing the median home value to $112,000, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Home prices in Wilson County rose by $32,000 during the same period—the most of any county in Texas.

El Paso currently has an eight-month inventory, meaning the average home spends around eight months on the market before being sold. Sam Trimble, a realtor for Century21, explained the abundance of inventory in the Sun City: “It is a buyer’s market right now. There are a little under 4,000 houses for sale in El Paso right now, and there are probably not 4,000 active buyers in El Paso right now.”
