ReadConstruction activity in the U.S. is on the rise as measured by McGraw-Hill Construction’s Dodge Momentum Index, which rose for the third consecutive month in June. The index measures nonresidential projects in the planning stages and is up 22.6% year-over-year.
The Associated General Contractors of America also reported private residential construction spending rose 7.5% year-over-year and private nonresidential construction spending was up 11% year-over-year as of May.
The increase in private residential construction spending represented an 11% year-over-year rise in single-family spending and 31% year-over-year increase in multifamily spending.
