hamilton-zanze February 01, 2014

A study by the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation (EDC) showed that the nine counties surrounding Denver had positive annual job growth in all industries in Q3 2013.

This is the first time every industry reported positive growth in the 13 years the group has done the study. “These results are quite encouraging to us and show the high-value of our diversified industry strategy,” explained Tom Clark, CEO of Metro Denver EDC.

The industry sectors tracked by the EDC are: aerospace, aviation, bioscience, broadcasting and telecommunications, energy, financial services, healthcare/wellness, and information technology/software.

Highlights of the report include:

–  5 out of 8 sectors ended 5-year employment declines, while 3 sectors continued 5-year growth trends
–  5 sectors reported average annual wages above $95,000
–  Metro Denver is #1 out of the 50 top U.S. metro areas for private aerospace employment concentration
