National Apartment Vacancy Dips to 4%

hamilton-zanze January 22, 2015

National apartment vacancies dipped as low as 4.2% in 2014, according to the recently released 2015 National Apartment Report from Marcus & Millichap. Homeownership declined as well, down to a 19-year low of 64.4% at the end of the year. The report cites these and other statistics, such as strong job gains, as evidence that the demand for multifamily units will be supported in the near term, despite slowly increasing home sales and wave of new units coming online in 2015.
