Utah and Colorado Ranked Top States for Tech

Colorado and Utah came in the top five in Milken Institute’s 2014 State Technology and Science Index, indicating the states’ strong prospects for tech-based economic development. The index tracks states’ tech and science capabilities and their ability to develop those into job and wealth creation. The report cites Utah’s strong life-sciences sector and impressive number of high-tech firms, while Colorado’s research and development capacity maintains the state’s inclusion in the top five for the sixth straight year since the list’s inception.
